Getting closer!

I've been working to get the site closer to our overall goal - 'A simple, easy to use logo designer profile/portfolio'. Things are going well considering I started out with no PHP knowlege and the base script we're working with is PHP (see websitebaker.org)

Ongoing Improvements
Although I'm no programmer, I've been scouring PHP code all weekend and have made a number of improvements to the various modules (with the help of a few WebsiteBaker.org forum members).

Continued improvements to the Blog Module
I continue to work with and make improvements to the blog module which is steadily growing more and more search engine & user friendly. Recent improvements include reworking the CSS to improve readability, added RSS feeds for blogs (feed your blog posts here to your main site or syndicate them anywhere), and cleaner integration of Digg.

Ongoing efforts for additional blog improvements include: post tagging, post categories, improved comments (add basics - bold, italic, underline text, and links)

Blog Rollup
Additionally I've added a blog roll-up to the logofu.com homepage so that every blog post makes it to the homepage where more visitors can see it - which means even more exposure to your portfolio/profile!

New features & content
As we work to improve the current features to be more search engine friendly and more user effective, we're also exploring a number of additional features and ideas for both the designer profile sections, and the main site. The way I see it - the better we make the overall site, the more benefit it will bring the individual users profiles/portfolios.

Contests Roll-up
I've added a page called 'Contests' to the main navigation. This is simply a roll-up of feeds from several websites that offer logo design contests. We're working to add additional sources to provide our users with easier access to logo design contests from around the web.

Help & How to
I've started work on the 'Help' section. Although it remains pretty bare at the moment, you should see additional content added over time. If there is something specific that you have a question about just drop us a note!

Forum?
You may have seen the 'Forum' link in the main navigation - so far there really isn't anything there - but I thought that might make a better place to discuss changes, how-to etc.

I'll continue working to improve the usability of the site for both users/visitors and designers. Please don't hesitate to share any input or feedback you have - the better we make the site, the more impact it will have on the value of the individual portfolios.
